Mrs. Allie Mae Owens Blackmon, affectionately known as "Aunt Mae," was born on May 11, 1919, to Simon Owens and Mary Liza Huff Owens in Meriwether County. Aunt Mae was loved by many. She enjoyed the phone calls she received from her family and friends on a daily basis. She loved to be surrounded by her family and her dog that she shared with her niece, Daisy Mae. Aunt Mae was a strong 102-year-old Queen with a good, sound mind and plenty of humor. She was a member of Pilgrim Rest Baptist church where she served on the Mother Board. She was preceded in death by: her father, Simon Owens; her mother, Mary Liza Huff Owens; a sister, Bertha Lee Owens; brothers, George Owens, John Love, and Dave Owens; and a special nephew, Mr. Charlie Holt. Mrs. Allie Mae Owens Blackmon leaves to cherish: her nieces, Daisy Sinkfield (Charlie) of Manchester, GA, and Betty Owens of Florida; a great-nephew, Antonio Holt of Cairo, GA; and many more special family and friends whom she loved dearly.
