Benetha H. Blue, affectionately known as “Sis,” passed away peacefully on August 20, 2023, at Upson Regional Hospital. Born on August 22, 1944, to the late Katie Pearl Jones Harps and J.C. Harps, Sis was a beloved family member and friend whose generous spirit and delightful humor left a mark on all who knew her. She attended school in Woodbury, Georgia. After school, she began working for Lanier Clothing and throughout her career, she became a highly trained seamstress. Sis’s intricate stitches and intricate handiwork made her well-known and highly respected in her field. Known for her love of sewing, she not only turned it into her career, but also her hobby. Her love for animals was renowned, especially for cats and dogs; whom she used to feed and take up time with.
Sis was preceded in death by both parents and siblings, George Knight, Roosevelt Harps, R.C. Harps, Marvin Harps, Willie Henry Harps, and Teresa Moore, revealing a long line of family connection and love.
She was survived by: her son, Willie Harps; sister-in-law, Louise Harps; special friends, Addie L. Trice, Wyvonia Patrick, Julia Benning, Geraldine Dunn, Elaine Slaton, Bertha Slaton, and Marie Slaton; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, along with many friends who cherished her and loved her dearly .
