Bennie Lewis Williams was born July 15, 1945 in Shiloh, GA, to the late Bennie Lewis Lucas Williams, Sr. and Reva Hill. He transitioned to his heavenly home on Friday, December 22, 2023.
Mr. Bennie or Pip as so many called him was known by many near and far, young and old. He served faithfully at the Callaway Recreation Center/Manchester High School until his retirement in 2007. Bennie never met a stranger and would lend a helping hand to anyone in need. If anyone needed help around the house, the yard, or with moving, Bennie was the man for the job. He did so willingly and with a smile. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and cooking. His favorite thing to do was to sit back and watch western movies, especially Gunsmoke. Bennie was known to share a good story with all the animations and to keep everyone laughing. Bennie loved his family.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Ann Williams; daughter, Teresa Olaluwoye, and siblings Jessie Lucas, Ivey Lucas, John Lewis Lucas, AlzidiaWilbert, Nathaniel Lucas, and Mattie Lucas.
He leaves to cherish his memories his children, Vickie Harris of LaGrange, GA, Aetavia Williams of Columbus, GA, James Morris Williams of Tampa, Florida, Latasha Stinson-Ross (Hunter), and Melinda Stinson-Patterson (Leetuan); bonus children, SharDai Cooper (Manchester, GA) Nicole Holmes Scott(Temple, GA), Laketha Bowles (Manchester, GA), Chris Rutherford (Atlanta, GA); two sisters, Johnnie Mae Hixson of LaGrange, GA, and Clotee Copeland of Columbus, GA; three brothers, Walter Lucas (Rhonda)of Columbus, GA, Willie Lucas of Phenix City, AL, and Theotis Lucas (Elane) of LaGrange GA; one sister-n-law, Veola Jackson of Warm Springs, GA; ten grandchildren, Chezzy Williams (Armiee) of West Point, GA, Antrovious Ferguson (Kimberly) of Columbus, GA., LaShandra Harris of LaGrange, GA, and LaVincent Harris of Columbus, GA, Tynija Ross, Cedarious Ross, Cedrian Ross, Cedric Ross, Leah Ross, and Legacy Patterson; ten great grandchildren; one great, great grandson; close friend, Patricia Swan; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends whom loved him very much.
