Bertha Slaton

The public viewing will take place immediately after memorial service until 4pm.

Bertha Slaton was born September 8, 1931 to Thurman Carreker and Fannie Tooley Carreker in  Gay, Georgia. She passed away peacefully at her home on March 19,2024. 

Bertha attended school at the Red Oak Community School. She accepted Christ in her life and attended church at Mt.Pleasant Baptist Church. Bertha was united in holy matrimony to the Late Willie James Slaton and out that union 8 children were born:6 preceded her in death Matthew Slaton an infant child ,Kay Adams, Barbara Slaton, Stevie Slaton, Freddie Slaton, and Ron Slaton. 

She is survived by three children Bernice Slaton, Elaine Slaton both of Woodbury, ga, Blondell Elliott(Juan) of Greenville, ga; 11 grandchildren one preceded her in death, Kevin Elliott, Trevino Searcy(Deon) of Manchester,GA, Grady Bray, Antonio Slaton Talbotton, ga, Marcus Holt(LaShanda) of Manchester, Ga, Demelco Slaton(Mahogany) of Newnan, Ga, Travis D. Slaton of Woodbury, ga, Krystal Slaton of Greenville, Ga, Brittany Q. Benning of Lagrange, Ga, Nicholas Elliott, Xavier Elliott both of Greenville, ga, and Kenneth Beasley who she loved as if he was one of her own grandchildren;16 great grandchildren, 10 great great grandchildren; two nephews Thomas Carreker of Atlanta, Jerry Carreker of California; a niece Lula Suttle of Atlanta and a host of other family members and friends, whom she loved with her whole heart.
