Mrs. Bessie Lee Coverson Little was born April 6, 1937, to the late Ossie Lee and Willie Dorsey Coverson in Pine Mountain, Georgia to the late Ossie Lee Coverson and Willie Dorsey Coverson.
May 1,1965 She was united in holy matrimony to the late Hamp Little Sr. The vow “until death do us part” now is considered null and void. We pray their souls are reunited.
Bessie Lee was a woman of many means. She was an entrepreneur in her own right. Bessie has always worked hard and diligently. She was employed by Cagles, Milliken, and later in her 80’s she was a Home Healthcare Assistant. Mrs. Bessie was a bus driver for Harris, and Meriwether County as well.
Her hobbies included making wreaths, fishing, picking pecans, GA Lottery, and of course casino games.
She was well-known by many who shared in how great of a woman she was. People knew her to have a heart of gold, and feisty disposition. That made her the strong woman you encountered. Her strength will greatly be missed.
On May 6, 2024, the family of Mrs. Bessie lost the heartbeat responsible for their existence. The soul of a woman lovingly known as “Granny” transitioned from her earthly tabernacle.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son Larry Coverson; her brothers Curtis Coverson, Charlie Coverson, Roger Coverson, Willie Henry Coverson, Edward Coverson, and Joseph Coverson; her sisters Mary Alice Walker, Ruby Kate Crowder, Betty Coverson, Shirley Mae Coverson, and Mildred Ette Coverson.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her children Bessie Mae Maddox, Robert (Mary) Coverson, and Hamp (Rhonda) Little Jr.; her siblings Louise Murphy, Willie (Alfreda) Coverson, Roy (Kathleen) Coverson, and Myra Hill; also, her grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives who loved her dearly. She had a close best friend in Ms. Evelyn Robinson, who was very much a part of her life.
Final Care provided by the licensed dignified funeral care providers at McCoy Funeral Home of Manchester,GA.
