Calvin Ogletree

Mr. Calvin G. Ogletree (A.K.A "Tree") was born February 14 , 1941 in Stovall, GA to Lela Mae Gates Dunlap and Samuel Ogletree. He departed this life on October 24, 2023. He is preceded in death by his wife, Lavaughn R. Ogletree, two daughters, Karon Ogletree and Tonja Crawl and three sisters: Jackie Dunlap, Ammie Ruth Dunlap, Rose Dunlap-Brown.

Calvin confessed his faith in God at an early age, and became a member of Leverette Hill Baptist Church in Warm Springs,Ga, where he was baptized when he was ateenager. He later became a Deacon in his Church.

Calvin completed his education in Warm Springs, GA. He moved to Atlanta where he worked as a cement finisher and started his own business employing family and close friends.

He married Lavaughn Reynolds in 1961 and had two children in this union. Calvin loved to golf, go fishing, also he loved watching baseball, football, basketball, car racing and golfing tournaments.

Calvin was the eldest of 14 children. He is survived by Annie J. Dunlap, Bety J. Thomas, Theresa Dunlap, Robert Dunlap (Darlene), Johnny Dunlap, Melvin Cates, Ronnie Dunlap, Roger Dunlap (Pearl), Eddie Dunlap, Tommie Dunlap

His Children: Sherold Ogletree, Chekeela Shy-Baxter, Alicia Marshall, Yolanda Fletcher, Santavious Johnson, his Grandchildren: Chelsea Ogletree, Gabriela Johnson, Shevette Neal, Brianca Howard, Brittany Crawl, Liberty Newby, Donna Williams, Travis Williams, Dorreus Earls, Yokaius Earls and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins that will miss him dearly.
