Deacon Frank Parks Obituary

Deacon Frank Parks, born October 9, 1933, to the late Joiner W. and Beatrice O. Parks in Meriwether County, GA, peacefully departed this life on January 3, 2025, at the age of 91. Frank was a proud graduate of Meriwether County School and a dedicated veteran, having served his country in the military in 1954.
 

On March 10, 1957, he married the love of his life, Oneva Boddie Parks, and together they built a legacy of love, family, and faith.

Deacon Parks entrepreneurial spirit led him to own a grocery store, and he later retired from Yamaha. He was a pillar of his community, serving on the Greenville City Council and dedicating himself to his role as a deacon and faithful member of New Springfield Missionary Baptist Church and Springfield Missionary Baptist Church. A man of unwavering faith, Frank loved God and worked tirelessly in the church. Known for his remarkable singing voice, he often used his gift to inspire others.


Deacon Parks generous heart and steadfast values were hallmarks of his life. He was known for giving selflessly, standing for what was right, and sharing his wisdom with honesty and love. His commitment to his family, faith, and community left an indelible mark on all who knew him.


Deacon Parks was preceded in death by his parents, Joiner W. and Beatrice Parks; his beloved wife, Oneva Parks; one son, Jarome Parks; one daughter, Cynthia Parks; two brothers, Willie and Joe Parks; and three sister, Marie and Nora Parks, and Julia Reeves.


He leaves to cherish his memory two devoted children: Darren Parks of Greenville, GA, and Dennessra Parks Dozier (Ricky) of LaGrange, GA; twelve cherished grandchildren, including Raymon Dunson of LaGrange, GA, whom he and his wife lovingly raised as their own, Tyeisha Tucker (Hopewell, VA), Mantae Barnes (Alabama), Marquis Rosser (LaGrange, GA), Kera Anthony (Daimyen) (Atlanta, GA), Darius Parks (Albany, GA), Desmond Parks (Morrow, GA) and Dasmond Parks (West Point, GA), Damien Dozier, Charneeva Dozier, and Dre Karious Dozier (LaGrange, GA); twenty-seven great-grandchildren; as well as a special niece, Phyllis Reeves, two special nephews, Willie and Corey Crum, a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Deacon Parks will be remembered for his unwavering faith, his love for family, and his commitment to serving his community. His legacy of love, kindness, and strength will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
