Eddie Carter Obituary

Ms. Eddie E. Carter, the daughter of the late J. T. Carter and Edith V. Carter (née Perryman), was a longtime member of St. Paul C.M.E. Church. She attended Central High School and graduated proudly in the class of 1971.

Ms. Carter was a loving and devoted mother, daughter, sister, and friend. Known simply and affectionately as "Sister" to many, Ms. Carter blessed all who knew her with her kindness, gentleness, patience, compassion, and faith. Her daughters knew her as a steady source of understanding and non-judgment, an artist in both the kitchen and on sketch paper, and a cheerleader at every stage of their lives. Her family, by blood and by choice, knew her as the type of person who remembered every birthday and anniversary; who was ready and willing with a hug or a kind word; and whose baked goods always put smiles on their faces.

She leaves to cherish her memory: two daughters, Angela D. Hamler and Alicia D. Carter; three sisters, Julia (Bobby) Ballard, Pauline Carter, and Willie Eva Carter; two brothers, John H. Carter and Bobby L. Carter; one sister-in-law, Barbara J. Carter; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and bonus children (Tabitha Gamble, Sharonda Harvey, Andre Jones, etc.); and additional family members of the heart (the Taylors, Fosters, Tuttles, Evans, Halls, Ouzts, etc.).
