Eddie Joe Parker

Eddie Joe Parker was born to E.D. and Ruby Parker on June 26, 1964.  At an early age, he joined the Mt. Venus Baptist Church where he served faithfully until his death. As a servant leader, he served in many roles including Deacon, Treasurer, Sound Engineer, male chorus singer and a dedicated worker of the Cotton Fair.  He attended the Meriwether County School System and graduated from Woodbury High School with the Class of 1982.  He was employed as Scheduling & Quality Manager at Southern Mills/TenCate where he worked faithfully for 43 years.

Eddie was the true definition of a family man. He took on the role as caregiver for his mother after the death of his father. He was his family’s greatest supporter. Family and friends loved Eddie, his laugh was infectious, his heart bigger than life, his grandchildren cherished him.  He was simply a precious jewel on earth who loved the Lord.

Eddie was preceded in death by his father, E.D. Parker.  He leaves to cherish and honor his memories, hismother Ruby Parker of Gay, Ga; his children Travis Parker of Gay, Ga and Shekeiva (Benson) Jones of Hogansville,GA;  grandchildren who affectionately called him “Poppy”, Traniah Parker, Jamareon McGhee, and Aiden McGhee; siblings, Jean (Richard) Harris of Fayetteville, GA, Angelique (Lawrence) Clayton of Fayetteville,GA, Debra (Darnell) Jordan of Senoia,GA, Michael Adams of Union City, and Kimberly Simon of Newnan,GA; God sister, Tomiko Williams of LaGrange,GA; Fiancé, Andrea Neal of Gay, Ga.  A special uncle who assisted him during his time of illness, Joseph Parker; other children he raised as his own, Trent Dumas, Chanler Neal, Ramon Neal, Jaquille Neal, and Antonio Patrick. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
