Ella Mae Weaver “Peat” was born December 5, 1965, to a loving Mother Lillie Mae Weaver and late father Mathis Jones, who both preceded her in death. She was born and raised in Woodbury, Georgia, and resides in Thomaston, Georgia. She attended Woodbury Elementary and High School. Earlier Ella joined the Leverett Hill Baptist Church at an early age. On her journey, she drove the school bus for the Meriwether County school system for many years. She drove for the Transit Service in Carrollton, Georgia, worked at the Roosevelt Institute in Warm Springs, Georgia, and Pathways in Greenville, Georgia. Ella was the life of the party, energetic, funny, and the center of attention on every occasion. She was loved and well-known in every city. She never met a stranger, and her favorite word was “EVERYBODY.”
Ella was blessed with one son, Brandon Darcell Walker (DARC), who she loved dearly. He was her everything and pride and joy.
Ella was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Sandra Favors, Mary Ann Bell, and Eula Mae Purdue; brothers, Stanley Weaver, Steven Weaver, Ralph Weaver, Arthur Jones, Sr., and Benne (Cara) Jones; and god-grandmother, Ella Howard Trice.
She is survived by her son, Brandon Darcell Walker of Woodbury, GA; sisters, Brenda Tyler of Woodbury, GA, Debbie Weaver of Thomaston, GA, Elizabeth (Rufus) Martin of Woodbury, GA, Sadie Favors of Woodbury, GA, Christine Bell of Manchester, GA, and Patsy Marshal of Greenville, GA; brother, Matthew Jones of Greenville, GA; special friends, Felma Henry and Eula Maines; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; and her goddaughter, Kaneisha Snelson, who all loved her dearly.
