Rev JD Walker officiating Mt Pleasant Baptist Church Ethel Gates Perdue was born to the late Willie and Myrtis Gates on February 12, 1936. She married the late Walter Lee Perdue. Ethel attended school in the Meriwether County School System. She retired from Nabisco and loved to watch soap operas. She joined Mount Pleasant Baptist Church at an early age, where she served faithfully until she became ill. One sister preceded her in death, Willie Florence Jones (Sue). She leaves behind her son, Bernard Gates, sister, Elzie Jackson-Brown (Ducksie), and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.
