Gladis “Dot” West, the daughter of Georgia B. West and Elijah West was born on January 2, 1953, in Waverly Hall, Georgia. Gladis attended Harris County High School in Hamilton, Georgia. She accepted Christ at an early age by joining St. John Pitts CME Church.
Gladis departed this life on Friday, March 24, 2023, at Life Path Hospice Center in Tampa Florida. She leaves to cherish memories of her daughter, Teisha Davison-Johnson (Ronnie Johnson) of Tampa, Florida; two sons, Roderick “Chuck” West (Amy Hendricks) of Hernando, Mississippi, and Rodney Davison (Jack Lott) of Douglas, Georgia; four grandchildren, Ronnie “Jermaine” Johnson of Tampa, Florida, Ava West of Hernando, Mississippi, and Jalynn and Anthony Bess, both of Smith Station, Alabama; one great- grandchild, Josiah Fluellen; Her “favorite” niece, Shanecia “Shay” Terry of Waverly Hall, Georgia; one great-nephew, Jaylyn Richardson of Seattle, Washington; three sisters, Mary Jean Terry (John Terry) and Bernice Floyd (Roy Floyd), both of Waverly Hall, Georgia, and Helen West of Gary, Indiana; two brothers, Gregory West (Cammie West) of Phenix City, Alabama, and Terrance West of Gary Indiana; godson, Christopher “Blake” Johnston of Waverly Hall, Georgia; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
