Jadrienne Horton Obituary

October 21, 1994 – May 23, 2025

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith."

— 2 Timothy 4:7

Jadrienne J’Nae Horton — “NaeNae” to most, but always Jadrienne to her Auntie Ruby, who named her — crossed the finish line of this life on May 23, 2025, in Chicago, Illinois. She was just 30 years old, but her journey was rich with purpose, excellence, and impact that reached far beyond her years.

Born on October 21, 1994, in Fort Benning, Georgia, Jadrienne was the beloved daughter of Sylvester and the late Ruth (Gray) Horton. She grew up in Manchester, Georgia, where she quickly earned a reputation as a thoughtful “bookworm” with a sharp mind and a heart that beat for helping others.

A proud member of New Hope Baptist Church, Jadrienne served faithfully as an usher and participated in Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and the Empty Stocking Program, always eager to lend a hand and share a smile.

She graduated with honors from Manchester High School, Class of 2013, and continued her academic path with purpose. Jadrienne earned her Bachelor of Science from the Universityof West Georgia, then soared on to the University of Michigan, where she achieved dual Master’s degrees in Public Health and Social Work. It was no surprise to anyone that sheused those degrees to make a real difference — serving as a Program Manager for the Center for Health and Research Transformation, where she channeled her passion forequity and care into lasting change.

Jadrienne was smart, spirited, stylish — and always smiling. Whether she was deep in conversation or belting out her favorite playlist, she radiated a quiet confidence and acontagious joy. She lived with intention, loved fiercely, and gave generously.

She is survived by her father, Sylvester Horton; her aunts, Ruby Gray and Tonia (Kendall) Carter; her uncles, John (Berniece) Hill, Marvin (Bennie Lou) Gray, and Richard Horton; her stepsister, Lisa Prather, and stepbrother, Desmond (Lydia) Horton; her cousins Trestin, Jamon, Jordan, and Melissa — and a host of other family, friends, and loved ones who will forever cherish her memory
