Jaylen Jamal McGruder was born May 14, 2001, in Lagrange, Georgia to Sherika McGruder and Fred Febry. Jaylen accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal savior early in life. He was a member of True Mount Temple Baptist Church in Warm Springs, Georgia. Jaylen was called to eternal rest on March 31, 2024. He was preceded in death by a brother, the late Tre’Darius McGruder.
A TIME TO WORK AND LEARN
Jaylen graduated from Callaway High School in the Class of 2020. He was known to be a good-hearted gentleman, with the most mischievous laugh. Jaylen greeted everyone with his contagious smile and would light up the room. He was a hardworking father who was all about his kids, family, and pine straw.

Jaylen leaves to cherish his most precious memories: his loving parents, Sherika McGruder and Fred Febry; the love of his life, Albrunisia Echols; daughter, Maisie, and son, Ja’Darius McGruder; bonus children, Meia and Myla Robinson; brother, Taurus McGruder; six sisters, Shakausmen White, Shadazhia McGruder, Jamya Kelley, ShaDerrica McGruder, Asia McGhee, and Ajah Burden; three nieces, Kylii McGruder, Nyla White, and T’ziyah McGruder; one nephew, Kamden McGruder; grandmothers, Bertha McGruder (Jimmy Lewis) and Cynthia Febry (Willie); grandfathers, George Febry and the late Henry C. McGruder; special aunts, Sonja, Michelle, Keisha, Charlotte, Lisa, and Bianca; special uncles, George and Kemp; extended brother, Kentavious (Malik) Brown; special friends, “The Straw Boys”; and a host of aunts, great aunts, uncles, great uncles, cousins, and friends that loved him dearly.
