John L. Adams

John Lamar Adams, the son of the late Mr. John Lewis Adams and Mrs. Lucy Agnes Adams was born July 13, 1943 in Meriwether County, Manchester, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his beloved sister, Mrs. Annette Daniel. He was also affectionately called Pap Adams.

Brother Adams was a long time and faithful servant-disciple of the Greentown Heights Church of Christ, which he thoroughly enjoyed the fellowship as he studied and gained truth from many teachings.

Pap attended the Meriwether County Training School (MCT) in Manchester, Georgia. After graduation, he honorably served his country in the United States Army, serving in the Korean War.

Pap was employed with Goody Products Inc., in the Manchester, Georgia for more than 30 years, before retiring. His retirement afforded him the pleasure of doing what he loved most; manicuring the lawn, fellowshipping with his church members and enjoyed family gatherings.

Pap was a faithful and loving father and grandfather. He was a wise and devoted Uncle to his only niece Patricia, who was raised with him as a sister.

Pap peacefully transitioned in his home and leaves to forever cherish his memories: two sons, Clifford Adams (Atlanta, GA) and Antonio Adams (Philadelphia, PA); daughter and caregiver, LaKesha Adams (Bryan); niece/ sister, Patricia Buchanan (Jimmy), both of Manchester, GA; three stepchildren, Larry Rush (Tanesha) and Trevino Searcy (Deon), both of Manchester, GA, and Grady Bray of Alpharetta, GA; five grandchildren, Jalen Leonard and Brylee Stillwell, of Manchester, GA, Breniethia (FeeFee) Cypher (David) of Carrolton, GA, Kori Newbell (Charlisse) of Texas, and Tiffany Adams of New York; three great-nephews, Kelevin (KJ) Steverson, Fernando (Rod) Steverson of California, and Alexis (Sport) Steverson of Maryland; a host of great- grandchildren, cousins, and friends.
