Ms. Lucille Dozier, affectionately known as “Lucy,” was born on March 21, 1957, to the late Ida Mae and Jessie Dozier in Talbot County, Georgia.
Lucille joined Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Woodbury, Georgia, at a very early age and served as a faithful member.
Lucille received her education in the Meriwether County school system. She was employed at Flint River Academy in Woodbury, Georgia, for more than ten years. Lucy enjoyed dancing, cooking, and spending time with family and friends.
Lucille was welcomed into her eternal home on Saturday, November 12, 2022, by her mother, Ida Mae Dozier, and father, Jessie Dozier; one son, Antonio Dozier; one daughter, Tessica Dozier Anthony; one grandaughter, Laprincia Colton; three brothers, Willie Frank, Joseph Dozier, and Andrew Dozier; and four sisters, Mary Nell Dozier, Mattie Hinton, Bessie Mae Dozier, and Emma Heath.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories: one daughter, Almetria (Dontavius, Sr.) Dozier of Thomaston, GA; one son-in- law, Gracias Anthony, Sr., of Woodbury, GA; eight grandchildren, Graciona (Janeluis, Sr.) Anthony and Gracias Anthony, Jr., both of Woodbury, GA, Joshua McAfee, Jr., Joshawn Dozier, Antonijah Dozier, and Dontavius Walker, Jr., of Thomaston, GA, Antonio Dozier, Jr., and Quavious Wade of Atlanta, GA; two great- grandchildren, Janeluis Marshall, Jr., and Je’Lani Colton; three sisters, Dorothy (Dwight) Thompson of Richmond, VA, Sarah Harper of Lithonia, GA, and Della (Micheal) Davis of Atlanta, GA; six brothers, Henry Dozier, Robert (Pat) Dozier, Albert (Geraldine) Dozier, and Jessie (Gloria) Dozier, all of Atlanta, GA, and Jerry Dozier and Micheal (Tonja) Dozier, both of Woodbury, GA; a loving partner, Ralph Benning of Woodbury, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, who will all miss her dearly.
