Talbot County lost one of its most kind and caring souls on March 1, 2024. Mary was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, neighbor, aunt, and friend.
Mary was born to the late Leonard Miller and Mary Julia Pascal Miller on April 15, 1940. Mary was a sweet, caring woman who welcomed many into her home. She found joy in making everyone happy.
Mary accepted Christ at an early age. She joined Shady Grove Baptist Church in 1950. She served as an active member for many years until her health failed. Mary worked at Goody Products in Manchester, GA, where she retired after 30 years. Mary was a hard-working mother.
Mary’s dream was to see her kids grow up. She loved cooking and crossword puzzles. She also loved her family dearly. Mary ended departed her earthly life on March 1, 2024 at St. Francis Hospital in Columbus, GA.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Willis Sr.; daughter, Mary “Tinnie” Neal; sisters, Florence, Ethel, and Eva; brothers, Etkel, Ike, Leonard, Jessie Lee, and Albert; and a special niece and nephew, Precious and Lewis.
She leaves to cherish her memories her loving children: Joretha (Michael) Ryles and Thomas Willis Jr.; both of Talbotton, GA; brother: Joe (Phillis) Miller of Tavares, FL, three sister-in-laws: Evelyn (Steve) Allen of Atlanta, GA, Brenda Miller of Hyde Park, MA, and Ruby Willis of Woodland, GA; seven grandchildren: Lakeshia Leonard, whom she raised as her own, Joseph (Tiawianne) Neal, Marcus Willis, Shavonda Willis, Tia Willis, Fredarius (Jalesia) Marshall, and KeAsha Ryles; 26 great-grandkids– one, whom she raised as her own, KeDarrious Epps; five great-great grandchildren; god-children: Taneshia Searcy and Jontavious Pitts; like a daughter: Debra Rainey, Deborah Bunkley, and Lashunda Marshall; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Two special nephews: John “Bubba” Rucker and Dennis “Boo” Willis; loving neighbors: Walter (Lillian) Wilson; special friends: Brenda Harris, Willie “Ree” Little, and Rose Atkins; and many more who will miss her dearly.
