Ms. Melinda Sue Bell was born on April 15, 1958, in
Warm Springs, Georgia, to the late John Thomas Bell and Lena Gaston Bell. She passed away peacefully on Wednesday January 10, 2024.
Melinda was the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Thomas Bells, precious union. At an early age, she joined the Red Oak Grove Baptist Church accepting Christ as her Lord and Savior. Melinda remained a faithful member of Red Oak Grove Baptist Church until her health began to decline.
She received her education in the Meriwether County Public School System, where she graduated from Greenville High School. After high school, Melinda attended Ashworth College earning a Bachelors degree with honors. She was a passionate teacher for Meriwether County Schools for 29 years, retiring in 2019. During retirement she found herself substituting at Mountain View Elementary, George E. Washington Elementary, and Unity Elementary.
Melinda found a passion outside her teaching career, making beautiful floral arrangements and crocheting. Her passion for floral arrangements made her the proud owner of Melinda’s Blessed Blossoms LLC.
Melinda was known to be positive, encouraging, and very soft spoken. She was a very strong believer in Christ, which made her an amazing, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt.
Melinda was preceded in death by both of her parents:a grandson, Anthony, three brothers, John Thomas Bell Jr., Frank Norman bell, and Willie George Bell, two sisters, Georgia Mae Brown, and Ruby Nell Bell, a niece, Carolyn Smith and two nephews Christopher Dodson, and Donnie Bell.
She leaves to Cherish her memories: a loving daughter and faithful caregiver, Irene(Anthony) Bell, two grandchildren Audrey and Antonio, a sister Margie Alexander, a brother Maxie Bell, an aunt Ruby Driver, a uncle Rufus Gaston and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends who loved her dearly.
