Michael McGruder

Mr. Michael McGruder, the son of the late Mr. Jimmie Williams, Sr., and Dorothy Hill, was born July 19, 1961, in Pine Mountain, GA. He departed this life on January 29, 2024, at Well Star Hospice Care of LaGrange, GA, surrounded by family.

Michael, better known as “Mike,” loved his family and friends. He had a special place in his heart for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mike was truly a people-person. He never met a stranger, and he greeted everyone with his contagious smile that would light up any room. Mike’s gift of playing the guitar allowed him the opportunity to play the guitar at many churches until his health began to decline. Outside of playing the guitar, he loved his landscaping job.

He was preceded in death by his father, Mr. Jimmie Williams, Sr.

Mike leaves to cherish his memories: his loving and devoted wife of many years, Stacey McGruder; daughter, Conswella (Eric); mother, Mrs. Dorothy Hill (James); three sons, DeMario, Jacoby, and Jaleel (Chasmine); ten grandchildren, Dejah, A’ziyah, Ja’Quereus, Ny’Asia, Jay’la, E’lijah, Lashanti, Cierra, I’scah, and I’Liah; four great-grandchildren, Ny’sir, Nydia, Ny’leah, and Ny’Ell; three sisters, Linda Hand, Venus Brown, and Miranda Hill; seven brothers, Terrell, Ferrell, Jimmie Jr., Marcus, Shawn, Eric, and Carl; two special friends, “KP” and “Shakey;” and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family and friends who loved him dearly.
