Myrtice was born on May 12, 1947, to the late Annie Maude Grady and Mathis Evans, Jr. in Woodbury, GA. She was born the middle child of six siblings and was affectionately known to her family and friends as “Tee Tee”. Myrtice was educated in the Meriwether County School System and graduated with the class of 1965. She later united in marriage with Joe Henry Pope and to this union three children was born. After marriage she moved to Alvaton, GA. And joined Mt. Sinai Baptist Church.
Myrtice was a hard-working woman, she worked various jobs which included working 26 years with Field & Hedding manufacturing company until the company relocated. She later began working with the Meriwether County School lunch program and Ingles Grocery store.
Myrtice loved growing beautiful flowers. She had a talent for baking good cakes for her family members and others in the community. She loved to travel and never missed taking trips whenever the opportunity arose. She loved her family and enjoyed family gatherings.
Myrtice moved back to Woodbury and united with Woodbury Miracle Fellowship where she was a very active member and served on the Usher’s Ministry and other positions as needed. She served faithfully until her health began to fail.
She is preceded in death by her oldest son, Joe Pope Jr. (Boo). She leaves to mourn her passing two sons, Michael ( Bug) Pope (Janette, deceased) and Jerome Pope (Tiffany), nine grandchildren, Javor Health, Jessica Health, Deanna Health, Kimmie Hamilton, Joe Henry Pope III, Jada Pope, Jequavius Pope, Tyrique Pope and Annastasia Epps. Fourteen great- grandchildren.
Myrtice leaves six siblings to mourn her, Maezelle Redding, Dorothy Finley, Clarence Dixon, Carolyn Mahone, Charlie Grady and Eddie Dean Grady. She leaves two devoted friends Josephine Stargell and Margie Alexander.
