Nakia Lashay "Shay" Perdue, born on August 1, 1975, in Thomaston, Georgia, and a cherished resident of Meriwether County.
Born to Patricia "Pat" Bowles and Joe H. Pope Sr., Following the transitioning of her mother, Shay found solace and motherly love in her aunt, Lorraine Weaver, who became not just an aunt but a guiding mother figure.
Shay's journey, marked by significant milestones, included attending Manchester High School and showcasing her diverse talents as a dedicated bus driver for local counties and in her recent role at Milliken Live Oak. She had a love for fashion, shopping and home decor. Shay's life was defined by unwavering faith in God, a testament to her strong relationship with the divine.
Shay was preceded in death by her son Shadarrius McKeever, mother Patricia Bowles, sister Sharhonda Weaver, and brother Joe H. Pope Jr.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and memories, survived by her six children: Nakisius Perdue (Frantz), Shakina Foster (Jerdy), Nikii (Bendarrian) Elliott, Nikee Perdue, Piereon (Kalia) Perdue, and Paris (Harry) Langston. Novanie, whom she cherished as her own, will forever hold a special place in her heart.
A special nephew, Azarrius "Pruitt" Weaver, and fifteen grandchildren fondly remember their Grandma Shay: Vatravis, Honestee, Truth, Godiss, Legend, King, Kayden, Majesty, Royal, Rylee, Heir, Jayden, Na'ledge, Yuri, and Peace.
Her charismatic spirit touched the lives of many, including her special companion, Francis Kambire, and dear friend Luther Ray Bell.
