With profound sadness and heartfelt love, we celebrate the life of Samuel Curtis Mahone, affectionately known to family and friends as “Sneaky.” He peacefully departed this life with his sister, Verna, by his side, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, resilience, and cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Sneaky was a man whose presence brought warmth and comfort to those around him. Known for his infectious smile, kind heart, and unforgettable sense of humor, he had a unique ability to make people feel welcomed and valued. Whether sharing a story, lending a helping hand, or simply spending time with those he loved, Sneaky made a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Family was the cornerstone of Sneaky’s life. He treasured every moment spent with his loved ones and believed that life’s greatest blessings were found in the relationships we build and the love we share. His quiet strength, generous spirit, and unwavering devotion to his family will continue to inspire those who were blessed to call him brother, daddy, granddaddy, uncle, cousin, friend, and loved one.
Throughout his life, Sneaky faced both triumphs and challenges with courage, dignity, and perseverance. His character reflected humility, compassion, and an enduring faith that carried him through every season of life. Those who knew him will remember not only what he accomplished but, more importantly, how he made people feel—with kindness, laughter, encouragement, and love.
Although our hearts are heavy with sorrow, we rejoice in knowing that Sneaky’s love, wisdom, and legacy will continue through the lives he touched. We find comfort in God’s promise that those who trust in Him will have everlasting life and that one day we will be reunited again.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to everyone who visited Sneaky during his time at the nursing home. Your visits, prayers, encouragement, and acts of kindness brought him comfort and reminded him how deeply he was loved. We offer a special thank you to the children Samuel lovingly raised as his own, Lashawn and Yeke; a dear friend, Jimmy Dean; and to his cousins, Terra, Natalie, Valerie, and Joean, whose faithful visits, devoted care, and unwavering support brought him immeasurable comfort and joy.
As we honor Sneaky, let us remember not only the day he left us but the countless days he enriched our lives with his love, laughter, and unwavering spirit. His memory will forever remain in our hearts, and his legacy will continue for generations to come.
“Well done, good and faithful servant.” — Matthew 25:23
