Susie Curtis Obituary

Ms. Susie Ann Curtis, 72 was the daughter of the late Robert Brown and Bertha Owens, born in Talbot County, Ga June 1, 1952. She transitioned peacefully from this earthly life on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at her home.

Susie Ann believed in service to others. She was always willing to organize a family event, feed a neighbor, or volunteer a helping hand to anyone in need. She was a friend to many and a“boss” to all. She loved her family dearly and cherished the time she spent with them. Susie Ann adored her son and her grands. She would travel frequently to their home or events all around the country to show her love & support.

She graduated from Talbot County public schools in 1971 and later received her Associates Degree in early childhood from Flint River Tech. At an early age she confessed her life in
Christ, joined and became an active member of Concord Baptist Church. She served prior to her illness as a faithful lifelong member.

Susie Ann was a former employee of Goody Company; known as Goodman for over 30 years. She retired from Goody in 2006. She later could often be found helping anyone who
needed a hand, whether assisting friends with catering services, organizing family reunions or assisting families at Burden’s funeral home. She had a heart for service.

She leaves to honor and cherish her memory, one son, Mr. Anthony Q. Jones (Karen) of Charlotte, North Carolina; one grandson, Logan; one granddaughter, Loren; three sisters, Gussie Murray of Atlanta, Georgia, Hazel Brown of Atlanta, Georgia, and Bieace King (Tommy) of Atlanta, Georgia; and one brother, Norman Brown (Alice) of Atlanta, Georgia. She also leaves to revere her precious memory, six aunts, Rosa Mae Searcy of Talbotton, Georgia, Lizzie McDowell of Shiloh, Georgia, Bobbie Jean Owens of Woodland, Georgia, Mary Lizzie Marshall of Talbotton, Georgia, Ella Owens and Gussie Owens of Woodland, Georgia, and Deborah Brown of Thomaston, Georgia; five uncles, Jessie Owens of Woodland, Georgia, Grady (Linda) Brown of Talbotton, Georgia Charlie Frank (Alice) Brown of Atlanta, Georgia, Sterling (Marilyn) Brown of Atlanta, Georgia, and Allen (Lizzie) McDowell of Shiloh, Georgia; as well as a host of cousins, other family, and friends.
